ROY G. BIV: A Rainbow of Art
November 18, 2023-October 27, 2024
This exhibition, drawn from the permanent collection, celebrates the use of color by artists. While many viewers expect art to be colorful, in reality, much of it is not. When it is used, color has an amazing ability to add power and drama to a work. Artists often utilize color for expressive purposes, seeking to elicit a specific emotion or feeling. ROY G. BIV plays off the idea of the color wheel (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet) to explore the role that color plays in art.
