One Night Stand via Zoom, Free

Join CRMA Executive Director Sean Ulmer as he discusses Lawrence Buck’s painting “St. Paul’s United Methodist Church” from 1918.  Hear how the artist captured this landmark piece of architecture in Cedar Rapids, a work currently on view in “Inspired by Cedar Rapids: 175 Years of Art,” celebrating the 175^th anniversary of Cedar Rapids.  In addition to discussing the artwork and the artist, Ulmer will also discuss the architects responsible for the church’s creation.

One Night Stand with the CRMA is a free series of art talks on Zoom led by CRMA staff, local artists, or art scholars.  By focusing each 20-minute program on one artwork, the audience engages in a conversation about the artist and how the selected work of art relates to their larger body of work.
